Salmon with balsamic maple glaze

Serves 5

5 6 oz Salmon fillets or steaks

1/4 Cup Grapefruit or Orange juice

1/4 Cup Maple syrup, real – not imitation

3 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar

2 Garlic cloves, minced

1 Tbs Olive Oil

1 Pre-Soaked Untreated Cedar Plank

  • Soak cedar plank in cool tap water for 1 - 2 hours before start time.

  • Pre-heat grill to medium heat (approximately 365 degrees).

  • Combine all the juice, syrup, vinegar, garlic in small saucepan.

  • Bring to a boil and cook for about 5-6 minutes, or until the mixture has a glaze-like consistency. Stir often.

  • Stir in the oil and remove from heat.

  • Brush generously the fillets or steaks with glaze.

  • Place salmon fillets on plank and place on grill. Close grill top only opening to baste now and then with glaze.

  • Cook 15-20 minutes or until done.

  • Remove from grill and allow to slightly cool.

  • Carefully, remove fillets from plank with spatula, cut into pieces, and serve.
